Precision Agricultural Services, Inc.'s FSMS Auditor/Lead Auditor based on ISO 22000:2005 course focuses on teaching delegates an effective approach for auditing food safety management systems.  The primary objective of this training course is to instruct food safety auditors in the principles and practices specific to auditing for conformance with ISO 22000, including planning and preparation of the audit, audit practices, and reporting audit findings.  Experienced instructors guide delegates through 3rd Party audits that are required for a management system based on ISO 22000.  Delegates gain necessary auditing skills through a balance of formal classroom tutorials, group workshops, and open forum discussions.

This course is registered by the Governing Board of the IQA - International Register of Certified Auditors (IRCA) and meets part of the requirements of those seeking registration as a FSMS Auditor/Lead Auditor under that scheme (IRCA/2190).

Course Pre-requisites  
  • It is recommended that students have some prior knowledge of ISO 22000 or food safety management systems

Course Structure  

This course is a 40 hour/5 day course.

There is a 16 hour pre course assignment that must be completed by all delegates in advance of attending. Completed assignments are to be handed to the tutor on day 1 of the training course.

Course Start: 08:45 a.m & Course Finish: 17:30 p.m

Evening study may be required as part of this course. It is recommended that all delegates attending treat the course as residential.

Course Assessment


The delegate is assessed based on participation and performance throughout the duration of the course. This includes all exercises, role plays, case studies and all other activities during the course. Please note, full attendance is required during the training course.

There is a 2 hour written examination at the end of the course. The exam is open book in that a delegate is entitled to use their own notes taken while on the course, the use of the delegate manual and any other supplementary material provided including their copy of the International Standard (s) in question. The minimum pass rate for the examination is 70%
